Amethyst is a beautiful purple variety of the widely found Quartz crystal. The purple colour forms through natural irradiation, traces of iron and titanium, or the presence of other elements.

Its name comes from the Greek αμεθυστoς (amethystos). The Greeks believed that the stone protected its wearer from intoxication when drinking wine. Today, we use it for entirely different purposes.

Vera Cruz Amethysts come from the Veracruz region of Mexico. They are known for their elongated, slender crystals with a delicate purple hue.
