Thomsonite is a rare mineral from the zeolite group, which often forms in striking concentric circles. It most commonly appears in white, grey and greenish hues, and more rarely in orange and rose tones.

It was named after Scottish chemist and mineralogist Thomas Thomson, who was one of the key scientists in the study and description of zeolites in the 19th century.
