Rhodonite is a beautiful mineral in shades of reddish-pink, often threaded with black or brown due to the presence of manganese. It is a manganese silicate that also contains other minerals such as magnesium, iron, and calcium.

It was first discovered in the 1700s in Russia, where in the 19th century it was also used to craft shields. It was likewise one of the most frequently used stones in the Tsar's palace, where it stood as a symbol of wealth and power.
